This school year, students have been pleased to once again experience the excitement of live school productions. Due to COVID-19, however, some adjustments had to be made to the fall musical, “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown“, to allow it to happen.
As the first weeks of school passed, the theater tech staff worked hard to construct Sullivan Stage just outside the school library. Students in tech designed and painted dozens of props and backgrounds to bring the magic of the show to life.
The cast of the show did an excellent job of bringing theater outside. Rehearsals for the show initially began in the Performing Arts Center but moved to the Sullivan Stage once completed. All of the shows were initially scheduled for one weekend on the outdoor stage instead of the normal two weekends. However, unexpected rain forced the performances to be done over a two-weekend time span.
From unfavorable weather to low light levels in the evenings, both the cast and crew faced new challenges. Everyone involved did an outstanding job of navigating these obstacles, which led to a wonderful and successful fall musical. Catalina cannot wait for the next production!
